Month: March 2012

  • this weekend.

    (1) Book Phuket trip. YEAH!!! I’m doing my hotels research and I’m quite serious about splurging a little on the trip. Right now, Westin is on top of my list.

    (2) Get the renovation quotes from another contractor. This is becoming kind of routine.

    (3) Hunger games tonight. Don’t like the cinema but it’s the closest one. They should seriously upgrade the seats. They’ve increased the ticket prices over the years but the seats remain atrocious. If I remember, I’ll bring a back support pillow.

    (4) I wonder if I can get any exercise done at all…???

    (5) Sleep more. Rest more. From Monday onwards, I’ll be taking over one of the projects at work, which means the honeymoon is officially over. I hope I won’t have to OT!

  • health scare.

my dad had a health scare this week. he said he saw blood when he goes to the toilet, and he started panicking and requested to see a specialist asap to get a colonoscopy done. to cut the story short, we went to the hospital this afternoon to keep him company, and the procedure is completely without a glitch. turns out that the bleeding originated from piles. even though the doc commented that the piles may need to be surgically removed if they cause problems and won’t heal, it’s considered “good news”. he was more worried about cancer obviously. phew.

  • i want to find some reading time!

i bought two books from kinokuniya yesterday and i’m dying to find some time to sit down and read! unfortunately, my personal life has been packed with chores and tasks, and i’m more busy when i’m at home than when i’m at work. anyway i’m home today because my colleague is overseas, i don’t have any meetings, and all i need to do for now is to write a research article, which i can do better at home than in the office. but for the entire morning, i’ve been scanning and photocopying documents, doing filing, checking bank accounts etc. arghs.

back to reading.. i’m getting excited about having my own full-height bookshelf in my new place. i wonder if it’s enough, or i should add more columns. let’s see what the interior designers recommend, and the price of course. can’t wait to have my own study room! and of course, my own place!!!

  • car sold!

h said he’s received a deposit for his car… transaction will be closed by the end of this month. so from next month onwards, h and i will be sharing my car. part of our plans to cut unnecessary costs!

work’s fine so far. kind of bored actually. because i’ve not been given much to do yet. i’m helping out with little tasks here and there, but if my colleague is not around, i wouldn’t have much at hand. he’ll assign some tasks for me, but they don’t really take very long to complete. during my free time, i do surf the net to learn more about our competitor’s offerings. i think i’m a good employee.

    other stuff…

my uncle sent me a message on fb, saying that they’ll probably be celebrating my grandma’s birthday this coming weekend. i think my sis already ordered a hamper for her. oh and my sis will finally be starting work next monday! i think we’re all worried for her. cos she’s not that confident to start with, and i wonder how she’s going to cope. i don’t even know how she’s going to stay awake the whole day, since she’s so used to waking up after 10am everyday. wish her good luck. the most i can do is to get my hubby to send us to nearby mrt stations whenever possible. so let’s just hope that her start-work hours are slightly flexible.
